One Step at a Time

We believe that small changes can make a big difference.

Replacing rubber bands with TPU bands

Most Rubber Bands are not recycled and end up as waste in landfills.
DAC will use only TPU bands and only when it is necessary to use a band at all.

Collaboration with Nemo Equipment

With common interests in mind, DAC and Nemo Equipment collaborated on a pole storage bag using recycled fabric Repreve. The poles are placed into the bag at DAC's factory and the bag becomes part of the overall tent package. The project netted NEMO a GREEN GOOD DESIGN 2021 award for Green Product.

We are interested in discussing any ideas you might have to eliminate plastic waste from our and your tent packaging.

Using Recycled Paper

Paper use is one of greatest causes of deforestation. Each ton of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4000 kilowatts of energy, and 7000 gallons of water.

DAC's new product tag uses 100% recycled paper.

Eliminating Polybags

Polybags are the default option for protecting individual products from the manufacturer to retailer to consumer. Typically made from petroleum and HDPE plastic, polybags take 500+ years to decompose while releasing toxic substances into the soil and ruining our marine environments.

After extensive testing, we have eliminated the use of polybags on all pole sets that are without hubs, angles, etc. We will continue to test sets with these parts with the goal to be totally polybags free in the foreseeable future.
